Continuous Membership In Post 12

Mr. Johnny Brumbelow, 68 of 607 Callaway Drive, Rockmart, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2005. Mr. Brumbelow was born April 26, 1936 in Polk County, son of the late Tom and Nancy Brown Brumbelow. He was a member of the Aragon Baptist Church, a retired Lockheed employee with 28 years of service, and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by is wife Mrs. Myrna Armstrong Brumbelow; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Hayes and Mrs. Annie Sue Shiflett; one brother, Mr. Grady Brumbelow. Mr. Brumbelow is survived by three daughters, Karla Gladden and her husband Neal, Julie Brumbelow, and Susan Brumbelow; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kim Brumbelow, all of Rockmart; four sisters, Susie Forsyth of Rockmart, Frances Hightower of Carrollton, Ruby Burkhalter and Jeanette Wright, both of Aragon; one brother, Wesley Brumbelow of Aragon; two grandsons and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 12 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Parris officiating and Eulogy provided by A.J. Brumbelow. Internment followed in the family lot of Aragon Cemetery. The following have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Terry Brumbelow, Ronnie Brumbelow, Lamar Shepard, James Trammell, Wade Stringer, Frank Cook, Preston Herring, and Brian Ingle. Honorary pallbearers are: Larry Bennett, Bobby Cochran, Larry Pittman, Harold Lumpkin, J.B. Holland, and Michael Leatherwood. The family request in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the Rockmart High School Athletic Department or Brown-Wright American Legion Post #12. Freeman Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral services.
